Don’t Give your Children Smartphones.

https://www.lifesitenews.com/blogs/the-madness-of-giving-your-child-a-smartphone

“Nearly every social interaction – and sexual interaction – of teenagers is shaped by the tiny, always-throbbing devices they carry with them”

This has given rise to cyber-bullying and a spate of suicides, sexting and sexual exploitation of teens by teens, and the nearly non-stop viewing and amateur production of pornography. Teenagers – and children – are pulled into the social webs woven from Facebook to Instagram, from Snapchat to a half-dozen other underground cyber-settings, the interactions and content curated only by the children who populate them, free of parental or adult supervision.

Do not give the pornographers the access to your children that they seek. They know that children and teens are most likely to find porn on phones, and that’s why they’ve made a gargantuan effort in recent years to create porn that can be viewed and streamed on mobile devices. They know how to access your children—through a smartphone.

The IRS has no Business Acting as Speech Police

Pastors Pulpit Freedom Movement
Pulpit Freedom Sunday: Pastors to Protest IRS Restrictions on Speaking About Politics.

Pastors across the country will protest Internal Revenue Service restrictions on them not to talk politics in the church as they observe the annual Pulpit Freedom Sunday, days after the introduction of the Free Speech Fairness Act in the U.S. House to reinstate pastors’ and churches’ rights to speak freely.

“The IRS has no business acting as the speech police of any non-profit organization, as its many scandals over recent years have made clear,” said Erik Stanley, senior counsel of the Arizona-based Alliance Defending Freedom, which started Pulpit Freedom Sunday in 2008.

The Johnson Amendment, which Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has vowed to repeal, says non-profits, including churches, cannot speak in favor of political candidates, and the Free Speech Fairness Act, a bill that Rep. Steve Scalise and Rep. Jody Hice, both Republican, introduced in the House Wednesday, would restrict enforcement of the Johnson Amendment against churches and other non-profit groups.

Catholic “Social Justice” Rings Hollow and Hypocritical

Abortion kills an innocent human life

The law should at least protect the lives of the innocent. All laws reflect someone’s view of morality and our religious beliefs should inform our morality.

A refresher course on what the Catholic Church actually teaches, and what faithful Catholics are required to believe and practice, is worth repeating. The irrefutable tenants of this non-negotiable and pre-eminent issue are as follows: (1)  All human life is sacred;  (2) Human life begins at conception; (3)  Abortion kills an innocent human life;  (4) The intentional killing of an innocent human life is a mortal sin; and (5) If you die in a state of mortal sin you will go to hell for all eternity.  Full Article Lifesitenews/opinion

As the Catholic Church also teaches, all rights depend on the protection of the first inalienable right: the right to life. Therefore, the liberal Catholics’ vociferous call for “social justice” for the poor and oppressed, while denying millions of the most vulnerable the right to life itself, rings hollow and hypocritical. It is time for such cruel hypocrisy to be recognized for what it is, and for all faithful Catholics to boldly proclaim the truth of this issue without compromise.

Hand of Hope The Story Behind The Picture

Hand of Hope The Story Behind The Picture

The image of the hand of a 21 week-old unborn baby reaching out of the womb and holding the surgeon’s finger .

Michael Clancy, Photojournalist captured a famous and controversial picture  during spina bifida surgery on Samuel Armas an unborn child.

The incredible picture shows Samual reaching out of the womb, ( a miraculous glimpse of life in a mother’s womb), grasping the surgeon’s finger. This image enraged the abortion industry, caused a media scandal, encouraged the pro-life community and ended Clancy’s career as a photojournalist. Clancy’s story was featured in the movie, “The Gift of Life,” and in the book, “Hand of Hope The Story Behind The Picture

The picture was taken on August 19, 1999, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville Tn., during an incredible procedure to correct spina bifida on an unborn child.  Julie Armas was twenty one weeks pregnant with little Samuel at the time of the procedure. Photographer Michael Clancy captured a remarkable image: The hand of a 21 week-old prenatal baby holding a surgeon’s finger. Clancy thought the photo might win a Pulitzer Prize. Instead, the picture has generated a lot more controversy than awards.

Clancy wanted the picture to be seen by as many people as possible because it provided a miraculous glimpse of life in a mother’s womb. Prior to the photo shoot, Clancy considered a fetus to be purely a part of a women’s body, and felt that if she wanted an abortion, it was nobody’s business but her own. Clancy states that what he saw that day in the operating room changed his opinion immediately.

Election 2016 – Life on the Line

Trump vs Clinton Life on the LIne

Clinton Presidency Would Be Terrible for the Anti-Abortion Rights Movement!

Hillary Clinton’s unwavering commitment to advancing taxpayer-funded abortion on-demand stands in stark contrast to the commitments I’ve made to advance the rights of unborn children and their mothers when elected president.  Trump letter to Pro-Life leaders

Your help is crucial to make this contrast clear in the minds of pro-life voters, especially those in battle ground states.Together we can form this vital coalition so that Mike Pence and I can be advocates for the unborn and their mothers everyday we are in the White House. Compare Trump vs Clinton on life

Hillary Clinton, a strong supporter of abortion rights who would appoint more liberal Supreme Court justices, and Trump, says he is committed to appointing conservative justices.

Catholic Bishops Challenge Dysfunctional Culture

Catholic Bishops challenge dysfunctional culture

U.S. Catholic Bishops came away with three big winners in this weeks culture wars.

First Bishops slammed U.S. Commission on Civil Rights Chairman Martin R. Castro, a Democrat and Obama appointee for anti-religious anti Catholic statements. Chairman of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights Martin R. Castro, a Democrat and Obama appointee, issued a particularly strong statement against many (Catholic) appeals to religious freedom today. (His report recommends “religious freedom” defined by law be minimalized and the secular definition of “Civil Liberties” be pushed on the culture.) Full article at Catholicnewsagency.com

“The phrases ‘religious liberty’ and ‘religious freedom’ will stand for nothing except hypocrisy so long as they remain code words for discrimination, intolerance, racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia or any form of intolerance,” he said. Castro added that “today, as in past, religion is being used as both a weapon and a shield by those seeking to deny others equality. In our nation’s past religion has been used to justify slavery and later, Jim Crow laws.”

Catholic Bishops responded. “He (Martin R. Castro) makes the shocking suggestion that Catholic, evangelical, orthodox Jewish, Mormon, and Muslim communities are comparable to fringe segregationists from the civil rights era,” the Archbishop Lori said.

Faith leaders have a proud tradition of supporting the cause of civil rights in the U.S., Archbishop Lori insisted. “Can we imagine the civil rights movement without Rev. Martin Luther King, Fr. Theodore Hesburgh, and Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel?” he asked.

That tradition continues today, he added. “Today, Catholic priests, religious and laity can be found walking the neighborhood streets of our most struggling communities in places abandoned by a ‘throwaway culture’ that has too often determined that quick profits matter more than communities,” he said. “We are there offering education, health care, social services, and hope, working to serve as the ‘field hospital’ Pope Francis has called us to be.”

“Rest assured, if people of faith continue to be marginalized, it is the poor and vulnerable, not the Chairman and his friends, who will suffer,” Archbishop Lori maintained.

Second – Bishops shot down fake Catholics (Catholics for Choice, a Washington-based group funded by wealthy donors and million-dollar investments), funding a national advertising campaign promoting abortion as social-justice in a full-page ad blitz with the words “Public funding of abortion is a Catholic social-justice value” has made a splash in major newspapers across the United States. The use of the name ‘Catholic’ as a platform to promote the taking of innocent human life is offensive not only to Catholics, but to all who expect honesty and forthrightness in public discourse,” said Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York. He stated that Catholics for Choice had no affiliation with the Church and indicated the organization was a front group for wealthy foundations dedicated to advancing abortion as population control. Full Statement

Catholics for Choice is not affiliated with the Catholic Church in any way. It has no membership, and clearly does not speak for the faithful. It is funded by powerful private foundations to promote abortion as a method of population control.

Third – Archbishop Charles J. Chaput challenged us to acknowledge the forces which now shake the foundations of our republic and seek to rob us of our liberty. Full article Sex, family and the liberty of the Church

If Christians leave the public square, other people with much worse intentions won’t.  The surest way to make the country suffer is to not contest them in public debate and in the voting booth. Christians are not of the world, but we’re most definitely in it.  Augustine would say that our home is the City of God, but we get there by passing through the City of Man. In other words, elections do matter.  They matter a lot.

The truth about our sexuality is that infidelity, promiscuity, sexual confusion and mass pornography create human wreckage.  Multiply that wreckage by tens of millions of persons over five decades.  Then compound it with media nonsense about the innocence of casual sex and the “happy” children of friendly divorces.  What you get is what we have now: a dysfunctional culture of frustrated and wounded people increasingly incapable of permanent commitments, self-sacrifice and sustained intimacy, and unwilling to face the reality of their own problems.

This has political consequences.  People unwilling to rule their appetites will inevitably be ruled by them — and eventually, they’ll be ruled by someone else.  People too weak to sustain faithful relationships are also too weak to be free.  Sooner or later they surrender themselves to a state that compensates for their narcissism and immaturity with its own forms of social control.

Trump Helps Stay at Home Parenting

Donald Trump has unveiled a major policy proposal

It also gives benefits for parents who chose to stay-at-home with their children. Donald Trump has unveiled a major policy proposal that would give a tax break to stay-at-home mothers with young children, a policy sought by some pro-family advocates for decades. Full article at Lifesitenews.com

Clinton offers no incentives for stay-at-home parents, something critics view as an intentional sleight. “The Democrats, under the influence of the feminist bloc, don’t want to give any recognition to stay at home parenting, because they fear – rightly so – that women may like it,” Dr. Allan C. Carlson of the  Howard Center for Family, Religion, and Society told LifeSiteNews in 2012.

Mr. Trump’s plan differs significantly from that of Hillary Clinton, who has long said she subscribes to the philosophy that “it takes a village to raise a child.”

Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards blasted Trump’s plan on Twitter, calling it “ridiculous” That inspired a number of outraged reactions. “Why do you care?” asked Jeff Dunetz, who goes by the Twitter handle @yidwithlid. “You want the babies ripped out of their moms so you can sell their parts.”

The Supreme Court is the Tip of the Iceberg

The Supreme Court is the Tip of the Iceberg

Think, too, of the (federal) judges below the surface who will be controlling the bulk of the cases that are filed.

Certainly, the appointments that will take place within the U.S. Supreme Court over the next four to eight years are important, but we can’t focus only on “the tip of the iceberg” when it comes to the federal judiciary and the increasing control it exercises over our ability to govern ourselves. Full article by David Fowler Family Action Council of Tennessee

Appreciating the bigger picture begins with understanding that the U.S. Supreme Court will hear only 70 to 80 cases a year. No doubt, those will be major cases with a potential for a huge impact, but the bulk of the decisions that interpret the U.S. Constitution and construe our laws are made by the lower federal courts—the federal district court judges and federal judges on the Circuit Courts of Appeal.

What has taken place at that level over the years shows that who is President can be just as important with respect to these lower courts as it can be with respect to the Supreme Court.

Is Hillary Clinton Sick?

Is Hillary Clinton sick?

There are what I call the deplorables — the racists, you know, the haters!

I would say you can take Trump supporters and put them in two big baskets,” Clinton said. “There are what I call the deplorables — the racists, you know, the haters, and the people who are drawn because they think somehow he’s going to restore an America that no longer exists. So just eliminate them from your thinking, because we’ve always had an annoying prejudicial element within our politics.” Full article at Cnn.com

Clinton made the comments before introducing Barbra Streisand at an LGBT fundraiser in downtown New York.

Her health aside, her recent comments reveal a presidential candidate deeply hostile, afraid and prejudiced against a good number of our fellow Americans, those who express patriotism, religion, marriage, family, Christianity and support of human life.

“Now is the time to show Hillary the consequences of her words,” Trump’s campaign wrote in an appeal to supporters. “I’m asking you and the millions of hard-working, patriotic Americans whom she just insulted, to fight back with a contribution of $100, $65, $50, $35, $25, $15, or even $5 to elect Donald Trump to the White House.” Donald J Trump.com

“While Hillary said horrible things about my supporters, and while many of her supporters will never vote for me, I still respect them all!” Trump said on Twitter.

Mother Teresa Declared a Saint by Pope Francis

She skillfully exploited her celebrity status to propel the pro-life cause internationally like no one else before her or since.

The four feet tall Albanian nun was never afraid to speak truth to power, even when it made the powerful of the world feel uncomfortable, and she never pandered to curry their favor. Draped in her iconic white sari, she traveled the globe condemning abortion even when doing so was inconvenient and unwelcome. Full article Lifesitenews.com
