An Important Piece of Religious Liberty Legislation Before Congress.

The legislation aims to ensure government cannot discriminate against people of faith who believe marriage is a union of one man and one woman. Freedom of religion is our very first freedom laid out in the Bill of Rights because if we are not guaranteed the natural right to speak and act in accordance with one’s own religious beliefs, all other rights are illusory.

marriage-man-woman8-355xThe First Amendment Defense Act (FADA), S. 1598 and H.R. 2802, is a religious liberty protection bill introduced by Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) in the Senate and Representative Raul Labrador (R-ID) in the House. FADA would prevent the federal government from discriminating against individuals, associations, or businesses, such as churches and religious colleges, by denying a tax exemption, grant, contract, license, or certification because they believe marriage is a union of one man and one woman. Democratic House members and their invited witnesses made some stunning claims about the bill both orally and in written remarks that merit serious fact-checking. Here are six of the Myths they presented about the bill.

2015 Report Gloats Over New Abortion Numbers!

The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). Its affiliates ended the lives of nearly one million unborn children in 2015. In all 964,325, unborn children were terminated by chemical and surgical abortion by IPPF just last year alone.

demographic-winter2-355xA million of anything is a staggering number. But the loss of nearly a million children by surgical or chemical abortion is a tragedy beyond reckoning. Full Story pop.org

IPPF claims to have provided 16.8 million abortion-related services over the past five years, some 4.3 million [1] in 2015 alone. IPPF strives to be “a leading advocate of sexual and reproductive health and rights” by which they mean to promote abortion “rights”, graphic sex education “rights”, and contraception around the globe.

IPPF is active in 168 countries through its Member Associations and other groups. While Member Associations are independent organizations in and of themselves to one extent or another, they receive guidance and funding from IPPF.

Humanae Vitae 48 Years Later: Human Sexuality and Procreation

Then Pope Paul VI was warning us of the dire consequences that a “contraceptive mentality” would have on society.

But, of course, the pope wasn’t right. We all know that. Humanae Vitae was treated as a joke because it was a joke, wasn’t it? Vatican roulette, rhythm-method babies: The official Catholic view of sex was a gift to stand-up comedians around the world. A gift to politicians and public figures, for that matter. Want an easy stick with which to whack around, say, the Catholic Church’s opposition to abortion? Point out that those nutty Catholics are against birth control, too. Whenever public Catholics need a quick way to ingratiate themselves with non-Catholics, they announce their dissent on the Church’s teaching about birth control. And why not? It costs nothing, and it lets them pose themselves as rebels and independent thinkers, under no one’s ecclesial thumb. Full Article

Pope John Paul II persuasive Theology of the Body

Pope John Paul II persuasive Theology of the Body

It’s hard to remember all the joys we were told that contraception would bring, back in the day. For generations, from Victoria Woodhull all the way down to Margaret Sanger, birth-control activists had insisted that abortion would cease if we allowed access to contraception. In the 1965 decision Griswold v. Connecticut , the U.S. Supreme Court placed decisions about birth control at the center of the marriage bond. The smutty theaters, the back-room racks of pornography, the venereal diseases, the crushing down of young women into a life of timidity, the out-of-wedlock births, the masturbatory shame all the sicknesses of a repressed culture would be swept away in the free love that contraception allows.

Free love forty years on, the phrase has a marvelously musty sound to it, like the fragile violets of a Victorian spinster’s girlhood, pressed in the fading pages of her remembrance book. Things didn’t work out quite the way we were promised. In fact, the results were pretty much what the pope had said they would be. A funny thing happened on the way to the orgy, and as Mary Eberstadt notes in her superb essay in the current issue of First Things  if there’s a joke buried in Humanae Vitae , the joke is on us.

A careful rereading of Humanae vitae  – especially in the light of the “sexual revolution” unleashed in society over the past 40 years –can help us appreciate how prescient the Pope was in his warnings of the dire consequences that a “contraceptive mentality” would have on society.  The numbers of unwanted pregnancies and abortions did not decrease with the widespread acceptance of contraception – they increased.  And the “pill” far from freeing women from male domination made them more likely to be victims of sexual exploitation by men.  The break up of families and the epidemic of divorce in our culture, the increasingly high incidence of women bearing children out of wedlock, the flight from adult responsibility and the extended “adolescence” of men, all point to – in hindsight –the rightness of Paul VI’s and the Church’s teaching on human sexuality.

The Remarkable Bond between Mother and Baby!

Stem cells from fetus can repair the mother’s injured heart and male baby’s DNA can protect mothers brain from Alzheimer’s disease ..that’s really a remarkable bond..

video-fb2-570xA mother loves her child even before it is born. A mother carries her child always at heart and not just nine months, but for a lifetime. Liveactionnews.org

WOW !!!!!!!!!! You might also be interested in the book “The Hidden Life of the Unborn Child”, one of the most significant books that I’ve read on the subject of unborn children.

Amazing, especially the part about different biological recipes in the breast milk according to sex of the baby.

Beautiful! Evidence of the wisdom of our Creator and the fact that babies are conscious beings before birth.

Makes me want to cry to see such bond and thoughtfulness from our creator. The mom protects her baby and the baby ensure that the mom survive, amazing. I guess that feeling of protection is real when you conceive.

“Don’t Count your Chromosomes Before they Hatch.”

I would love for mothers to realize that life doesn’t end with a (Down syndrome) diagnosis.

Down-syndrome2-285xWe just knew that we were gonna continue on and love her — other than that, we had no support whatsoever,” she said. “The doctor said, ‘I’m sorry,’ and then it was ‘see ya.” nydailynews.com/life-style

A 15-month-old baby with Down syndrome has won hearts around the Web for mailing a letter to the doctor who told her mother to abort her.

Mom Courtney Baker put a picture of smiling little Emersyn Faith holding the note on her Facebook page, which has been shared thousands of times since Down syndrome awareness site Parker Myles also posted the story on Tuesday.

“What I would love is for a mother who is in the process of making that decision whether to keep the baby … to realize that life doesn’t end with a (Down syndrome) diagnosis — it’s just getting started,” Baker, 44, from Sanford, Fla., told The Daily News.

What then belongs to God? — Human Beings!

“Give to Caesar what is due to Caesar and to God what is due to God” (Matthew 22:21).
Reflection: When asked whether taxes should be paid to Caesar, Jesus asked whose image and inscription was on the coin. “Caesar’s,” came the answer. Jesus said the coin belongs to Caesar, for it bears Caesar’s image. What then belongs to God? — human beings, because they bear God’s image! The implication of the passage is that what belongs to God includes Caesar himself! Caesar must obey God.
Prayer: Lord, bless all those in civil authority, that they may obey your Divine and eternal law holding all life as sacred. Amen. Priest for Life

Can “Conscience Protection Act” Save Faith-Based Efforts?

“These disturbing new actions to force healthcare providers to participate in the destruction of human life cry out for an immediate federal remedy,” Dolan and Lori write.  “Even those who disagree on the issue of abortion should be able to respect those who wish not to participate in abortion.”

p-archbishop-william-lori1Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York and Archbishop William Lori of Baltimore have written members of Congress to urge passage of the “Conscience Protection Act of 2016,” citing recent cases in California, New York and Washington in which faith-based facilities have faced orders to provide abortions. www.usccb.org/issues-and-action

In their July 7 letter, Dolan and Lori argue that three recent events have underlined the importance of passing the new legislation.

First, they cite a June 21 decision by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that California’s Department of Managed Health Care has the authority to compel all health plans under its jurisdiction to cover elective abortions, including late-term abortions.

Second, Dolan and Lori point to the fact that New York’s Department of Financial Services has adopted a similar stance to California’s. Effective January 1, 2016, New York requires small group employers – including faith-based nonprofits and Christian businesses – to cover abortions.

Third, they cite a June 21 ruling by Skagit County Superior Court in Washington state holding that public hospitals must do abortions if they also offer maternity care.

“Hush” Tells the Truth How Abortion Hurts Women

HUSH is a documentary film that uncovers an array of important women’s health information that has been either hidden by fears of political correctness, or completely covered up by political agenda.

video-hush4Did you know that having a child, and especially having a child under 20 years old is significantly more protective against breast cancer for women compared to having a child over 30, or not having a child at all? No doctor or scientist anywhere will argue this with you. It’s true, it’s established. But most of them won’t communicate this information with you. Why? Because they don’t want to ‘tell women what to do’. They’re scared of stepping on the toes of feminist progress. Makes sense. But shouldn’t women at least know this information so they can make informed choices for their life? Shouldn’t we all know this? View the Hush Trailer

Hush, which seems to me an objective overview of the situation, should be seen by pro-choice women, pro-life women and women who are simply concerned about themselves or their daughters achieving their reproductive goals with optimal chances for long-term health. That is to say, by pretty well all women.

Canadian filmmaker Punam Kumar Gill, who identifies as pro-choice, said she wanted to find out the truth about abortion risks and whether they are real, as pro-lifers say, or overblown, as abortion activists claim. LifeNews.com

Summer Pro-Life Boot Camps Build Leaders

Students trained at summer Pro-Life boot camps make a difference for human life in their communities.

Many high school and college students today, including those within the Catholic and Protestant communities, reject or are indifferent to the pro-life view, often because they’ve never heard a compelling case for life presented at their schools or churches. What’s desperately needed are pro-life presentations designed to communicate to students the facts and arguments upon which pro-life principles are based. Students must be taught to defend it on hostile turf—such as the high school or university campus. They need to know that their pro-life convictions can stand up to rational scrutiny. Without this confidence, they won’t engage their peers on this issue. Worse still, they may jettison their pro-life convictions for a quiet relativism that values tolerance over truth. Full Article

The PULSE Pro-life Youth Initiative is a multi-faceted initiative to train the junior high, high school, and college students of Louisiana to be pro-life agents of change in their communities. In addition to the PULSE Immersions, the PULSE Leadership Institute (PLI) is an intensive week-long camp designed to equip high school and college students to be the pro-life leaders of today.

Pro-life activism should include protecting, uniting, leading, serving and educating individuals on the sacredness of all human life.  PULSE stands for the tools we hope to impart to students all across our country so they can take the “Pro-Life Pulse” of their state and revitalize the movement in their own communities.
