Following 25 years as an award-winning corporate advertising executive, Tom Peterson’s life would radically change forever, after receiving a transforming Spiritual conversion while on a Catholic men’s retreat. Soon afterward, he founded VirtueMedia (pro-life) and CatholicsComeHome.org.

Culture of Life Studies - Life is Precious - American Life League

By incorporating this unit study into your lesson plans, you have taken an important step toward instilling in each child a love and respect for every human being’s life.

Forces in our culture are determined to rob our children of innocence and fill their minds with erroneous facts in an attempt to draw them away from God.

Life is precious. That is precisely why we created this four-week unit study for early elementary students. Children already know that every human being’s life is precious. If you asked them, they’d likely tell you that, when a mother is pregnant, there is a baby in her belly. It’s not until we become adults, or sometimes teens, that we begin to question absolute truths, which are written on the heart of everyone.

Life Is Precious is part of ALL’s Life Primer primary school supplements, which are intended for children in grades K-3. Life Primer supplements provide students with an early understanding of the value of human life from the very beginning. These specially formulated supplements guide teachers and students through popular picture books with life-affirming themes as well as provide appropriate creative activities to assist student learning.

“State agencies in California and New York are mandating insurance coverage of abortion, and the Obama Administration recently made it clear that it will not enforce federal laws that prohibit such mandates,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “The Conscience Protection Act will allow direct access to the federal courts for the victims of coercive pro-abortion government policies.”

The Obama Administration’s refusal to enforce the civil right of conscience is not only unfair and unjustified—it grossly violates the rule of law. It makes a mockery of President Obama’s 2009 Notre Dame speech in which he said ‘Let’s honor the conscience of those who disagree with abortion.’ But he has not.

In an unconscionable abuse of power, for almost two years the state of California has forced all insurance plans under its purview—and the people and institutions that pay the premiums—to subsidize abortion on demand.

The Weldon federal conscience law authored by Congressman Dave Weldon of Florida and continuously in effect for over a decade—makes it explicit and comprehensively clear that California’s action is illegal.

Enforcement however is vested in the HHS Office of Civil Rights (OCR) and that’s the Achilles heel that needs to be fixed —and will be fixed by the Conscience Protection Act.”
